Hello World, Welcome to the First Blog Post of The Church Girl Convos (TCGC)!

Welcome to the launch of “The Church Girl Convos”, it’s really wonderful to finally have the first blog post up after a few weeks of dilly-dallying!  My name is Oluwatomi and I’m passionate about all things pertaining to Faith and Femininity.

Even though the blog is called “The church Girl Convos”, I’m more than your average church girl. I’m a lover of Jesus who seeks to grow deeper in love with him and I also love to encourage women who desire to do the same.

How the idea of TCGC Blog was birthed

A few months ago, I felt led by God to start a blog to share the unique experiences I have had as a young woman walking with God. At first I wondered: what would I write I about, who would be interested in reading what I had to write and if what I had to say would matter.

I felt I was an ordinary girl with an ordinary plain and boring life but on closer examination, I discovered that for someone so ordinary I had numerous experiences that other young godly women could learn from.

I have always had a knack for writing but I guess I had major struggles with confidence, doubts and procrastination. I also struggled with heeding God’s call because I knew it would involve me being vulnerable and putting myself out there.

To the glory of God, I have overcome my doubts and fears; and decided I would rather be God’s mouthpiece than be a scared coward wondering “what if, what if I had just started the blog?”

I have realised how powerful the internet is and how it can be instrumental in preaching the gospel and so I decided “WHY NOT?”

I decided to step out in total obedience and heed God’s call.

What to expect on TCGC Blog

The vision is for the Church Girl Convos blog  to become a community for godly women who desire to live fearlessly for Jesus Christ and fulfil their God-given purpose. It is also a community that fosters healthy conversations on the biblical principles of womanhood and femininity.

Sixteen or sixty; married or single; it doesn’t matter. As long as you love Jesus and are interested in walking closely with him, this blog is for you.

This blog would create a space for women to discuss, share ideas and learn everything and anything pertaining to biblical womanhood, godliness, feminine sexuality, love, marriage, and singleness.

At the core of this blog is the gospel, as its ultimate goal is to make Jesus known, make disciples out of women in accordance with Matthew 28:19 and prepare them for eternity.

I’m excited to see where this thrilling journey leads as I share all that God leads me to. I invite you to join me on this journey and I can assure that you will be blessed with a great measure of godly wisdom that would not only transform your life but also help you begin to see yourself through the eyes of Jesus.

Please feel free to comment and give feedback on issues you would like to see discussed on this blog, as a newbie in the blogosphere, your recommendations would really help me.

XOXO

Your sister in Christ,

Oluwatomi.
